The main goal of the department is to determine the strategy of automation and informatization of the regional library, methodological guidance in the process of automation of public libraries in the region, technical support of new information technologies.

The Department of automation of library processes works with the program of the Republican automated Library and information system Web-RABIS, developed by the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This program includes automation of library processes, creation of own digital resources for scientific and educational purposes, creation of electronic collections, databases of its own generation, use of network resources, digitization of rare publications. The Web-RABIS program consists of five modules: "Book replenishment", "Cataloger", "Search and order", "Book transfer" and "Reader registration".

Work is underway to digitize and send documents and other local history publications to the Kazneb. Creates a library of electronic documents by digitizing. Concludes contracts with authors for the right to use electronic versions of printed publications. It also publishes information about the library's events on social networks and provides technical support for each event.
