On March 27, an educational evening “Ult namysyn biik ustagan tulga” was organized, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the outstanding statesman and public figure, scientist, educator-teacher, translator Telzhan Shonanuly.
The purpose of the event is to widely acquaint the reader with the public scientific and pedagogical heritage of Telzhan Shonanuly, to set an example and promote the life and creative path of a scientist who devoted his adult life to education, science and knowledge, who opened the eyes of his nation and awakened the spirit of his nation.
At the event, the chairman of the regional branch of the Union of Local Historians of Kazakhstan, local historian, historian Bekarystan Myrzabai spoke about the childhood of Telzhan Shonanuly, his first steps on the path of education, his spiritual connection with his contemporaries and brothers of Alash, like Tel Zhamanmurynov, Temirbek Zhurgenov, Uzakbay Kulymbetov. Also, Excellent Health Officer of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputy of the regional maslikhat, Honorary Citizen of the Irgiz district, director of Zheldorpharmacy LLP, close relative of Telzhan Shonanuly Kudaibergen Bekenov said that the task of preserving and further researching the heritage of the universal scientist is the work of today’s generation.
In addition, Ornai Idirisova, a teacher of Kazakh language and literature at secondary school No. 31, spoke about the scientist’s legacy in the field of education, and called on young readers to study and love their Motherland, respect their traditions and past history. History teacher of secondary school No. 30 Ainur Zhuginisova gave information about the historical heritage of the scientist and noted aspects of his work that have yet to be studied.
During the event, student of the Aktobe Higher Humanitarian College Aruzhan Zhanova read an excerpt from Leo Tolstoy’s work “The Sun” translated by Telzhan Shonanula.
Librarians Balagul Bakieva and Gulbanu Kakenova presented readers with a bibliographic review of the book exhibition “Daryndy tulga ilimi - oshpes mura”, as well as the documentary film “Alash Aktandaktary”, photo-historical slide “Alash Ardaktysy”, dedicated to the life and work of Telzhan Shonanuly. Library director Sulushash Khakimova thanked the guests and summed up the results of the event.
