The Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of the Aktobe region and the Department of Education of the Aktobe region in order to enhance the tradition of reading books on Abai Alley hosted the opening ceremony of the children's book festival «KIDS BOOK FEST-2022» dedicated to the year of children. The event was attended by Akim of Aktobe region Orazalin O. S., Deputy akim of the region Eleusinova B. O., representatives of the intelligentsia, the media, residents of the city, the staff of regional and district libraries.
As part of the opening of the festival, bibliofresh, intellectual games, book exhibitions, outdoor games, entertainment events with animators, photo exhibitions, an award ceremony for the winners of the «Uzdik Zhas Okyrman-2022» competition, theatrical performances, bookrossing were held with the participation of libraries of the region.
The festival «KIDS BOOK FEST– 2022» will be held in June, July, August every Friday from 18.00 to 20.00 in 5 directions:

1. Drawing contest «Menin Otanym Kazakhstan!».

2. Expressive reading contest «Biz bakytty balamyz».

3. Theatrical performances based on fairy tales «Kyzykty kitappen demalys».

4. Essay contest «Erkin oku kenistigi». «Read for 20 minutes and write an essay for 5 minutes».

5. Bookcrossing «Oky zhane ozgege usyn».

On the first competitive day of the festival, secondary schools No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 of the city started.
