On February 14, employees of the reader service department held an evening for the Day of the Withdrawal of Soviet Troops from Afghanistan - a meeting with the internationalist soldiers “Augan Sogysynda from Keshkender”. This event is a tribute to everyone involved in the heroic and tragic events in Afghanistan
Veterans and internationalist warriors were invited to the meeting: deputy chairman of the Aktobe regional public association of warriors - internationalists of the Afghan War, Zhumabekov Amangeldi Bayishuly, Kenzhegarin Ruslan Nurkasymuly and Urmanov Zhanbulat Serikbayuly. In their speeches, they shared their memories of service, military operations, the courage of soldiers and, of course, returning home. Saying that defending the Motherland is a man’s sacred duty, they spoke with pride about the exploits of internationalist wars. Those present at the meeting observed a minute of silence in memory of the soldiers who performed their international duty outside the borders of their homeland.
At the event, video fragments of the documentary film by the chairman of the Afghan Veterans Society Bakytbek Smagul “Men korgen sogys” were shown to readers. The film was made to preserve the memory of those who participated and died in the Afghan war. This is a film about war..., about human dramas, tragedies. About what it means for a particular person to return from war. The book exhibition “Augan Zhangyrygy” was presented; a bibliographic review of the book exhibition was conducted by librarian Moldir Moldasheva; slides were shown telling about the feat of Kazakh soldiers during the Afghan War.
At the end of the event, the director of the Khakimov Library, Sulushash Maksimkyzy, spoke with best wishes and expressed words of gratitude to the guests of the evening: “... every year in mid-February we remember the names of internationalist wars, we bow to their feat. Their feat, their valor and fraternal help are a friend friend will become an example for today’s youth...”
At the evening, patriotic songs were performed by a soldier of military unit No. 6655 of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Aktobe Masumov Armanzhan Adylzhanuly.
