Abai Day

On August 10, the "Abai Day" literary festival, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great thinker Abai Kunanbayev, took place on Abai Avenue.
The event was divided into four thematic sections:
"Childhood and the Path of Knowledge,"
"Wisdom and Individuality,"
"Master of Perfect Thought,"
"The Nature of the Nation."
🔹In each section, yurts were decorated with traditional patterns, and Abai's childhood and upbringing were depicted in theatrical performances. Creative and intellectual activities, comic books, quizzes, and memory contests were organized for children and teenagers.
🔹Abai's songs, proverbs, and poems were popular with the audience, as were works performed in other languages with the participation of ethnocultural associations. Book exhibitions featuring scholarly works, research, and rare photographic materials about Abai also attracted great interest.
🔹At the traveling exhibition "The World of Abai," visitors were introduced to Abai-themed paintings from the museum's collection and were offered a fresh perspective on the poet through art.
🔹The "Ult Bolmysy" national games venue featured games such as asyk atu, togyzkumalak, tug-of-war, langi tebu, and arm wrestling, as well as master classes in archery, whip weaving, millet milling, and felting.
Golden eagles and greyhounds were on display, and Kazakh hunting culture was also showcased.
🔹Participants in the mass event wore Kazakh clothing, lending a truly national flavor to the festival.
