On February 27, a literary evening titled “Journalist. Scholar. Diplomat” was held to mark the 70th anniversary of Serikkali Baimenshe — Doctor of Philological Sciences, Academician of the Kazakhstan Academy of Journalism, Honored Journalist of Kazakhstan, and a veteran of the country’s foreign policy service.
During the event, guests spoke about the life and work of the distinguished native of Shalkar. They highlighted his scientific research in journalism, his achievements in literature, and his significant contribution to translation.
The author’s books “Tilge Tilmas” and “Tary Tarikhhaty”, published in 2025, were also presented. The jubilee celebrant joined the event online and answered questions about his professional path in journalism and his creative journey.
Warm wishes were expressed by his fellow countrymen Zheksen Koptleuov, Gaziza Aminova, and his sister Ainur Baimenshe.
During the evening, kuyshi Nurbolat Zhanamanov performed traditional kui compositions by Kazangap Tlepbergenuly, while Gulzhan Kunayeva, Director of the Aktobe Regional Museum of Arts, performed the song “Shalkar Waltz.”
As part of the event, a book exhibition titled “Sergek Kalam Iyesi” (“A Keen Pen”) was also presented.
