To mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of the statesman and public figure, teacher, publicist Temirbek Zhurgenov, a historical and educational event “KEMEGER MEMLEKET KAYRATKERI” was held. Temirbek Zhurgenov was born in November 1898 into a wealthy family in the village of Basykarakopa (near Zhabasak), Irgyz district, Aktobe region. Temirbek Zhurgenov, who carried out such significant, great work, devoted his whole life to serving the nation, the country, was detained on August 3, 1937 on the false charge of “enemy of the people” and executed on February 25, 1938. At the event, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, Honored Journalist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureate of “Altyn Kalam” Amankos Oringaliuly gave valuable information about the life and work of Temirbek Zhurgenov. As part of this event, a special video with the biography of Temirbek Zhurgenov was shown and a bibliographic review of the book exhibition “Ulttyn rukhyn oyatkan kairatker” was conducted. Nurbek Zhaksylykov, a student of the Aktobe Multidisciplinary College of ASU “Tarlan”, read a dedication poem by Saktaghan Esmakhanov “Asyl aga”. Library staff read the memoirs of Temirbek Zhurgenov’s husband, Damesh Amirkhanova, and Temirbek Zhurgenov’s poem “Translator of Kiyaly,” written in the genre of satire. The “Nazkonyr” dombra ensemble, created at the Aktobe Humanitarian College under the leadership of Aigul Bakytbekovna, also delighted the readers with their performance.
