On April 11, as part of the international project “Literature without Borders”, an international online meeting “Together towards the stars” was organized, dedicated to Cosmonautics Day and the 90th anniversary of the birth of the planet’s first cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin.
The purpose of the event is to expand, preserve and strengthen cultural ties between countries. To introduce library readers to the world of space and exchange work experience.
The event was attended via the ZOOM platform by Sergey Matyanin, director of the information and exhibition center of Penza State University; Elena Ryabenko, Deputy Director of the Information and Exhibition Center of Penza State University (Penza, Russian Federation). Having talked about the activities of Penza State University, Elena Vasilievna shared her experience of the information and exhibition center: “We once had a close connection with Kazakhstan, Viktor Patsayev’s sister Galina Ivanovna. But the connection was broken. My old dream came true - to meet again with fellow countrymen of the first astronomer, cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Patsayev. Galina Patsaeva gave us the book “The Courage of Quest.” Thanks to her, we learned a lot about the astronaut’s childhood and youth. In 1972, a memorial plaque with a high relief of Viktor Patsayev was unveiled on the main building of the university. The university stores a set of documents related to Viktor Ivanovich. In 1977, the lobby was decorated with a mosaic panel made of smalt, on which it is also easy to recognize the outstanding cosmonaut. Since 2017, annually on Cosmonautics Day at PSU, the Victor Patsayev Medal is awarded for high achievements in the development of science, technology and education of the university... I am very grateful for the meeting. I look forward to further cooperation."
The leading bibliographer of the specialized library No. 2 named after Nikolai Zyrin, Tatyana Prokhorova, and the deputy director for digitalization of the MBUK Central Library of Ulyanovsk, Alexandra Builina, congratulated all Muslims on the Holy holiday of Oraza Ait, and spoke about the work of the library, about fellow countrymen, the outstanding scientist and organizer of science Nikolai Zyrin.
Also, the head of the astronomical site of the Aktobe regional planetarium, Anara Karzhauova, providing a thematic slide, said: “The Aktobe regional planetarium is the first stationary planetarium in Kazakhstan, it was opened on January 3, 1967 and is one of the attractions of our city. The first director of the planetarium was Nikolai Zafiris. He was a real enthusiast of his business. He tirelessly promoted astronomy and cosmonautics among the population. Since 2001, Korlan Bulekov, a cultural figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been appointed director of the Planetarium, who contributed a lot to the development of the modern planetarium during the years of independence. We are in close cooperation with planetariums in neighboring countries - Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. In 2008, at an international conference in Barnaul, the Aktobe Planetarium became part of the Euro-Asian Planetarium Community. In 2011, the international VII Asia-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad was held in Aktobe. The planetarium traditionally hosts cosmonautics weeks...".
Colonel, Deputy for Educational Affairs of the School of Young Pilots named after Viktor Patsayev Mukhtar Nurmukhamedov spoke about the work of the school: “In 1969, the School of Young Pilots named after Viktor Patsayev was opened in Aktobe. The main task of the school is to give teenagers basic knowledge of aviation, flight technical disciplines, and most importantly, to instill a sense of patriotism. The school was founded and led by honorary citizen of Aktobe Alexander Kurbanov for many years. The school is supervised by the Military Institute of the Air Defense Forces named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union Talgat Begeldinov. Its teachers teach cadets. Young pilots enter the school from the 9th grade and study for 3 years. The School of Young Pilots named after Viktor Patsayev is proud of the Hero of Russia, cosmonaut pilot Colonel Yuri Lonchakov, Hero of Russia, test pilot Colonel Vyacheslav Kritsky and other graduates.”
During the event, library staff spoke about the first flight of Man into space, about the life and work of the first astronomer, cosmonaut Viktor Patsayev, conducted a bibliographic review of the thematic book exhibition and presented a photo-historical slide “City on a White Hill”, “I look after you from the steppes of Kazakhstan ", "The Courage of Quest", dedicated to the pilot-cosmonaut Viktor Patsayev.
Also, for the 155th anniversary of the city of Aktobe, students of the city secondary school-gymnasium No. 9 of Aktobe read poems by Utezhan Nurgaliev “Fatherland”, Valery Martynenko “Aktobe”, Galina Patsaeva “The Courage of Quest”, readers of the specialized library No. 2 named after N. Zyrin read poems by Leonid Vysheslavsky “Ordinary noise...”, Nikolai Miroshnikov “Hello, Earth!”.
The online event was attended by library readers, students of the Alga Secondary School named after V. Patsayev and media representatives.
At the end of the event, library director Sulushash Khakimova presented letters of gratitude to active readers.
